If you had been struck off…..
If you had been struck off as a solicitor can you tell a group of people you were a practising “city” solicitor without disclosing you were struck off?
Just another WordPress.com weblog

If you were struck off you would have to be pretty bad – and very likely able to spin a whole load of tosh. Do solicitors have standards? Do stuck off solicitors have standards?
Unlikely on both accounts – or they would just see another angle – ie they can avoid prosecution most of the time.

In the above link David Jacobs MA is now recruiting – do look carefully at the phrasing.
Legal Division
The Legal Division is led by David Jacobs MA Llb.
David Jacobs is a retired Solicitor
As your blog points out – he did not retire, and he is not allowed to practice due to being struck off.
, who has had more than 25 years experience of recruiting senior legal staff in both City and regional law firms, plus In-House lawyers for both smaller companies and large public companies, and Government.
This again is a mystery. He was a solicitor – since 1979 until 2001 – 22 years. During this time he was a commercial solicitor, not a recruiter. When he was struck off he was “acting on his own”, not a partner. He had been acting as Jacobs Minet, which was connected to Minet Perring. They describe themselves as “Minet Pering is a very long established, small, London firm of solicitors, offering a full service to both private and business clients.”
As a former partner in a major City law firm he is able to draw upon his depth of knowledge and experience to provide valuable advice and assistance in the recruitment of professional staff at a senior level, and through his numerous contacts within the profession he is often able to source senior candidates (and teams) on a completely confidential basis.
It is clear he will not name the “major city law firm” but you could check with the Law Society.
Interestingly enough David Jacobs resigned as a director of the company on the 27/1/09 and the company changed its registered address from 3 Gloucester Street (Same as Carbon Neutral Heating Company Ltd)
They are using Oriel as a factor – is that a good thing?

I agree – I am not sure “retired” and “struck off” mean the same thing. His background is easy to find in the Law Gazette. I am sure that some law firms may not want to employ his services – or trust the people he finds.
